Based on our belief that "the Japanese economy will change if regional banks' management changes," we have been working on a project to "visualize" the management of regional banks. As part of this project, we recently released "RADB2.0 (beta version)," which visualizes the management performance of 99 regional banks from various perspectives based on their financial and non-financial results for the first half of the fiscal year 2022. To access RADB2.0, please click on the link below. The only Japanese version is available, but the English version will soon be released.
What is the Risk Appetite Dashboard 2.0 (RADB 2.0)?
The RADB is based on financial and non-financial data published by all Japanese regional banks (99 regional and second-tier regional banks in total) and enables us to observe and compare 1) the "risk appetite" (the degree to which a bank meets the expectations of each stakeholder) of each bank in each of its primary management areas. The report also provides a comparison of the various management indices themselves. As Japanese regional banks face increasingly tough management challenges, this is an indispensable analytical tool that can serve as a guidepost for considering future management directions.
The newly developed RADB2.0 uses significantly more non-financial data (especially human capital and management strategy-related data) and additional financial data (IRRBB-related data) than the previous RADB, enabling the evaluation of each bank's management performance from further broader perspective.
